What Happens If It Rains?

Rain on your wedding day might not be what you envisioned — but it doesn’t have to dampen your memories. In fact, some of the most romantic, cinematic wedding photos happen under cloudy skies and gentle raindrops. As your photographer, I’m here to make sure your day is beautifully captured, rain or shine.

Know your venue and Plan ahead !

We recommend you confirm an indoor‑vs‑outdoor plan well before the ceremony.

A few questions to ask :

If the ceremony moves indoors, when would that call be made?

Tip:  Most venues require 30-45 minutes to flip spaces.

Can the space be used for photos after the ceremony or would all guests and vendors need to depart to allow the staff to flip the space ?

Recreating the dream in dry Spaces

Before your big day, I’ll scout your venue and identify:If we do have to head indoors, windows are our best friends. We’ll look for:

  • Large, north‑facing panes for soft, even light

  • Architectural details to add framing, and texture

Just Do It !

If you’re up for it, we can embrace the rain !

Rain adds a moody, romantic atmosphere that’s hard to replicate. Some benefits:

  • Soft lighting from overcast skies is flattering and reduces harsh shadows
  • Reflections in puddles or wet surfaces create artistic compositions
  • Candid moments — like couples laughing under umbrellas — are pure magic

If the rain is intermittent, we will sprint outside for quick “golden‑hour”‑style portraits.

Hairstyle & Wardrobe Tips

If you love the idea of intentional rain shots, consider:

  • Minimal‑frizz hairstyles (low buns, sleek waves)

  • Clear umbrellas as a styling prop

And if you’re worried about your dress, we’ll avoid muddy areas and keep things clean— unless you’re going for a bold, carefree vibe!

Breath Life into the Day

Indoor doesn’t mean dull. If you are looking to stay inside, we would recommend planning to specific activities or moments to bring energy  into the day !

  • Streamer exits with confetti under soft light

  • Large Group Toast with raised glasses

  • Conga lines, limbo games, or dance-off

  •  Wedding Scavenger Hunts ( Don’t know what this is – just ask)

Team Coordination

I’ll sync closely with your videographer and venue coordinator:

  • Share weather updates in real time

  • Adjust the timeline on the fly

  • Ensure our coverage remains seamless, whether we’re inside or out

Communication is key—so no moment slips through the cracks.

Ready for any forecast

Rain or no rain, your story will be told beautifully.
