Should I consider a dual photography team !
A second photographer is professional that complements the main photographer. They work in tandem during key events, such as the ceremony, to provide varied perspectives.
Often, they’ll split up to cover different locations—like when the couple is getting ready separately—ensuring both sides of the story are documented.
During cocktail hour, while the lead photographer focuses on family portraits, the second photographer can capture reception details and candid moments of guests, helping to create a more complete and dynamic visual narrative of the day.
Hiring a second photographer can feel like a big call—but it ALWAYS pays off. Here’s how to know if you need two lenses on your big day.
More Angles, More Persepctives, and More Photos !

Emergencies Happen - Have a backup Plan

Because they’re an experienced professional who’s already familiar with your photography plan and venue, you won’t miss a moment. It’s not just a backup—it’s built-in peace of mind.
When you might want to Skip It
Not every event needs two photographers. Consider one shooter if:

Simple shot list: Only formal portraits or staged family photos.
- Short Celebrations: If, the event is small, simple and expects less than 4 hours in duration, the 2nd photographer is not required.
Here are the Deets !
What is the cost : 55/hour with an 6-8 hour minimum durations. Minimum durations may vary depending on date and location.
So it sounds like I definitely need a second photographer ? Probably not. Majority of weddings will yield great value from a second photographer. In my 12 years of shooting weddings, I have never seen a couple express regret about the investment. However, most weddings can be sufficiently serviced with a single photographer.
My wedding will be coming up really soon. Is it too late to add a second photographer ?
A second can be added to your coverage at any time ( assuming date availability)
Is the second photographer included or optional: The second photographer is always optional. Some packages may have a second photographer included in the price. Package pricing can be adjusted to accomodate a single or dual photographer team.
